What a feeling

One of my favorite Maya Angelou quotes is “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Well, that is very true for your brand as well. Remember a few years back when Toyota’s advertising theme was “Oh, what a feeling!”? Notice they went to how it would make you feel. Apparently, in tests, no one got excited about “Oh, what a practical and reliable car!”

Whether you operate in a business-to-business or business-to-consumer space, it’s the little things—and the ones that reach a visceral, personal, emotion level—that create memorable impact. We may put a lot of effort into expounding the virtues of our solutions and the quality of our products, but the softer elements may be what moves the needle. And, often, they are the simple things.

Keep these four “A”s in mind. The soul of your brand is what keeps customers feeling that you deserve their business.
