Socializing The Brand: Social media suggestions to engage your audience

ďBah humbug! My business doesnít need social media!Ē I hear this sentiment from some of my clients who donít understand how to use social media to benefit their brand.

As with any new tool, when you are uncomfortable with how it works, you are reluctant to try it. Iím sure people have felt the same about each new medium that has come along: ďI wonít advertise on TV. My customers donít watch TV.Ē

The reason to use social media is to build a sense of community among your audience members. Think of social media as a hospitality suite versus a tradeshow booth; as the coffee break during a sales presentation. Itís a chance for you to be present with your brand to listen, provide a forum, informally interact and provide service.

Using social media boils down to the How, the What and the Where. You determine your best opportunity to serve your audience and then chose how and where to post to social media.
